What did you do WITH your Ranger today?

Just got back from an overnight trip to the Southeast Overland Expo in Starke, Florida with some camping in Ocala NF. After packing up this morning for the drive home, we did a bit of exploring through the NF.

Show wasn’t anything out of this world, but I did get to check out the Nemesis Ranger in person, and there were three rangers spotted out in the camping area.

Hi Folks,

Today the Ranger started service as the Poopmobile... Our Tortoise, Tito, awakened from 5½ months of sleep a corner of our great room. I fed him one little strawberry...his favorite desert.... However he has not pooped for all this time and is constipated...Go figure! So the remedy is to take the Tortoise for a drive where the jostling helps loosen him up...so put down a rubber mat in the rear seat footwell, place one tortoise on the mat and drive around for about 30 minutes.... However...no success yet...so tomorrow we try again.... Sheesh!

Hi Folks,

Well the saga continues...turned a bit colder here at 66°F for a high. Tito has moved to the other side of the Great Room and was asleep, so I woke him up...he ate a handful of kale and a little cut up strawberry...hopefully a bit of food in him will stir up the intestinal track....Tomorrow is going to be another truck ride to see if he will poop. Feeding him kale for the first time in nearly 6 months is an encouragement... Last year we did not get him to poop until late April and this many be repeat....but we did not do the Truck rides until late in the game....so this year, trying earlier...

We have had snow, rain and ice during the last month and now the sun shine is war enough to melt the ice and snow. This causes the vehicles to sink to the snow/ice cover which of course then re-ices over the night causing huge potholes. Some of em which fill up with water.

So only thing I've done today, it's still morning in here, was to drive to local grocery store. I used the road and drove over all the puddles, potholes, ice barriers and what else. But hey, that's a Raptor grounds anyway nothing new.

But the news were there the other people trying to drive there. They were looking at the Raptor with "I want one of those" looks while trying to hold on their tooth fillings in the bumps. One guy from scouts was looking at me when I plowed through one rather nasty looking puddle and was laughing in his car with a "Child is healthy when he plays" look on him.

Didn't take a picture, but there's up to 5 inch of ice (slush, potholes, water) on the roads. Might take one is I pass through there again.

I'm embarrassed to admit this, but car rides make me want to do #2 as well.
it never fails....5 or 6 km from home and Bam! looking for a Tim Hortons.

Sounds like a suspension issue to me...

I really wanted to go to the Expo, but we were still unpacking at the new house. Moving sucks!

I used my truck for truck stuff - hauling lumber! I had a terrible time at the local Home Depot as the store is a total shit show. Nothing is where it's supposed to be and the employees aren't the most helpful. I walked out of their after spending a ton of money in a foul mood. And then, I heard a blessed sound driving down my aisle in the parking lot!

The owner looped around to the next aisle and parked right near my truck, so I had an opportunity to talk to him. It's a beautiful car!

So I loaded up my lumber...

...and went home to work on a project. I had 19 2x4x96 (4 pressure treated and 15 regular), a 4x8 sheet of plywood (decking board ripped down to 4x7), and screws.

I turned this stupid collapsed pile of junk...

I have to resort to finding the stuff I need on line and copying down the Aisle and Bay number... We always try to time HD trips to take in dinner at the adjacent Olive Garden where we know the staff well...

If you had a smart phone, it will show you the aisle and bay for whatever you're looking for. I found this out last year while looking for something and not finding any reliable assistance.

Very disappointing, Amigo...move to the Southwest and no habla Español! How do you even communicate with Tito? Heck, you have to learn it here in PA just to get around in Allentown's Home Depot...But then again coming from Dearborn, you probably frequented Sheebas, and must be fluent in Arabic! There are so many Rangers on here from AZ, etc. it makes me feel left out not moving out there when I retired!

I think the Samsung Galaxy S10+ qualifies as a smart phone....I use a shopping list app. Sort of pre programed to just go get the stuff and be out of there...old age anxiety I guess.
