Well, the police didn't issue a citation, and specifically included that the audible alarm did not go off. I have to collect the report, then engage with some folks to "make it right". And that's really all I want out of it. Make everything whole again, and maybe consider tying the barrier setup to the traffic lights so it doesn't happen to the next guy who may not be so lucky as to be driving a stiff framed vehicle.
I'd at least want it to go to a body shop and put on the frame machine to make sure it's truly still straight. That's a hell of an impact for the factory suspension to absorb.

We need this video... I think that's universally wanted. How come you don't have a dash cam! :(

Bad news on the video front: Just called the security folks. Cameras don't face that way.

However, apparently I'm famous. I started the conversation with "I was involved in a vehicle incident last monday" and the guy broke in with "Holy shit, are you the guy who got launched in the air by the barrier?"

I don't need that kind of karma in my life. I tempt fate in lots of ways normally. I'd rather keep her on my side rather than look at me and say "ah, fuck that guy".

That works for some folks, but I tend to get the short of it when I try it.

this barrier thing is tweaking my mind. ive never seen one of those. maybe i dont get out enough lol. sounds like a hell of a ride. id have demanded payment for the cleaning of the cheese from the breakfast sammy, the truck in general - esp the driver seat, and maybe for a new seat cover. and a replacement breakfast.

In the final analysis, it wasn't worth fighting the base, and my insurance company (who, even after I sent them the police report, still had it listed as my fault), and I didn't particularly feel like getting an attorney to attempt to sue the location that I also work at, so I ate the exhaust price as my deductible, got some red tow hooks to replace the old black ones, and just rolled on down the road. The cheese cleaned up well enough.

The only unfortunate aside is that there's no video of the event for me to show anyone.

good no major damage to your truck and you are unhurt. smart choice not seeking litigation against your job, breaking the dinner plate lol. wish you had video it would have been epic!

Does your name happen to be Earl, by any chance?

Ridiculous that your insurance company deemed it your fault when the police said otherwise.
