Mike I remember all those old badges and the way they mounted into the body. I'm glad they changed that design so you can now de-badge a lot easier and not need a body shop to fill and repaint. lol
Oh, I fixed the title for you too.
Hi Dave,

Back then we did not have the Ultra High bond backings but alignment pins are still required on some of the badging unless there is a plant fixture used for alignment.

A bit of a back story, I launched the biggest alternative fuel vehicle in history at the time of fuel economy points for CAFE reasons. All 3.0L Rangers were compatible with E85 fuel So volume was some 140,000 per year. To show on the tailgate we had a road and leaf badge. This badge had a bit of unanticipated optical illusion in when applied straight and level, it looked crooked. Caused a big flap but nothing we could do but slightly tweek the badge from level just a tad. The crap which with I had to deal when we were trying to launch this E85 program...a flippin' badge...

Best,

ill agree it looks crooked. Is it not a perfect square or is it an optical illusion?

It looks that way to me as well...appears it's painted silver after black...I'd do a color change to silver at certain layer height...
Yes that would be a neater way to do it, but i guess just printing them black and painting is quicker and easier.

What're we look for?
Now then 5G members have so nicely educated you on the meaning of the letters you probably understand why I placed them on hidden place.
I have posted many pictures here after I got the letters but they are not visible if I don’t want to show them ;)
