When this first happened, I thought this might have been the Sync 3 system, but after messing with it a bit, I think it was either an Android Auto or a Pandora problem. Let me explain:

I was headed to work on Saturday morning. I usually have my radio on a local FM station that I usually like. But I was in the mood for something different, so I switched to Pandora to stream something. The channel it pulled up wasn't what I was after, so I switched to another pandora station. Instead of switching stations, it began to play BOTH stations at the same time. I tried to switch to a 3rd pandora station, and again, it layered the 3rd station with the other two. Talk about chaos.

I was done with that noise, so I switched instead to USB where I keep a thumb drive with mp3 songs. Ahhh...relief.

Oh, but there's more.

After a spell, the USB would cut out and the multi-layered Pandora channels would cut in for a minute. And then the USB input would take over again. This happened a number of times on my drive in. But by the time I got there, it seemed to have settled down on the USB input.

Thought the truck was acting wacko at the time.

So on my way home from work, I figured I'd test this to see how things played out. I switched from the USB back to Pandora and switched stations a couple times. Seemed to be working fine, so I played music from Pandora all the way home. When I got home and got out of the truck, my PHONE started playing the last pandora station I was listening to in the truck all by itself in my pocket. I pulled my phone out to try to stop it. But the Pandora app didn't think it was playing anything. I couldn't stop the music. I ended up deleting the Pandora app to make it stop. I didn't try turning the phone off to see if that would fix it, but it may have worked. I reinstalled Pandora later.

This is what makes me think that the problem wasn't Sync 3 and that it was instead either Pandora or AA. Everything worked just fine on Sunday, so I dunno what the issue was.

I have seen similar things with Android before. You play music in some app, and then some other music starts playing, and you can't control it - its not coming from the app.

As far as I know its an Android bug.

I used to have an Android tablet that did that, my friends Android phone has done it also.

Yeah, something with the phone or Pandora app. The app is running on the phone not in SYNC.
It's only controllable thru SYNC. I guess it could also be something with Blue Tooth communications, too.
Sometimes I get weird responses too, like SYNC will show "Paused" while the song still plays, or I'll get the annoying "Pandora is unable to play this station. Would you like to restart the app" while the whole-time music is still playing in the background.

Sync wouldn't play it if android didn't spray it.
