Hello,

Just installed the WeatherTech window deflectors front and rear.

My question is if you guys used the metal clip for the front windows? I can't see the reason for it and using it added a bit of force to close fully so I was hesitant to leave it in. I removed it and the front visors seem super solid. Looked up other brands and theirs install the same as the Ranger but no metal clip used.

Interested in opinions and maybe tips if I did anything wrong on the install.

Outside of that, they look to be of good quality, are quite flexible and hope they help in the Vegas summers when parked outside. I love that I can have the windows open about 1" and can't tell walking past the vehicle.

Thanks

I've had and loved one set of each kind.
Can't tell that the ones with the clips are any more sturdy than the ones without.
Leave the clips off and enjoy!

Like the others I didn't use the clips either.

Mine came in installed when I got the truck, so I can't tell you about the clips, but it's been about 18 months since I've had it, and I love having the weather stripping for the same reason you mention. Throughout the summer, I leave those windows cracked to bleed out the hot, stifling air, so that it's moderately comfortable when I get in. I pair that up with a sun shield to get that effect, since I park outside now (previous home I had space to park inside), and it's been a God-send.

Thanks everyone. I will leave the clip out as well then. Was fine at street speeds but good hearing the real world reports from you all.
