I don't use the Ford Sync Navigation. I've used Android Auto/Google Maps since I got the truck in Oct just fine. Until yesterday.
I was driving in a part of town that I don't know well and wanted to input a destination to go to. I hit the microphone icon on the dash screen as usual, and the system said "When it is safe to do so, you'll first need to tap the notification, then you can use the google assistant while driving." There is/was no popup message on the dash screen or the phone.
I can't voice in a destination whether in P or D. It even does this if I go into Android Auto with the phone disconnected from the vehicle when I'm inside the house! I've looked through the Sync, Android, and Andrid Auto settings and don't see anything that needs to be changed. Multiple restarts of the phone have done nothing to fix it.
Anyone had this same issue? What should I do?
