The funny thing is hat in the event of an actual apocalypse, disaster, catastrophe, etc, all of that prepper virtue signaling will be the one thing that does get them attacked, looted, and pillaged. The prepper rig is going to look like a mobile Walmart to people who are unprepared.

When they see it, it will be like blood in the water for sharks. They'll rip it open and make it a convertible just like the one in the OP. Only no where near as nice.
I was in the reserves years ago, we were called up to go to Somalia. The guys who were the most gun-ho and "badass" where the first to start crying and crapping themselves. A couple had to be discharged, which was even funnier because our trip was cancelled at the last minute.

I picture most preppers to be exactly the same.

Found this on a list of ugliest pickups. Never heard of it, but they only built 20 of them!
Well is it the ugliest?

Hi Mike,

I think this is one of the Rangers done by American Sunroof Company. ASC was a development of Heinz Prechter, a Michigan entrepreneur. He had ties with Ford. He owned a newspaper for which my Ex wife worked. He did many of the Ford Sunroofs for Ford and did some things like this Ranger. Sadly, he put a bullet in his melon and the empire he created dissolved in to Lawyer heaven. Ex was laid off and augered into the cocaine mess. Sad to see ASC go and AMF to Ex wife...

Best,

Any vehicle that's prepared for the zombie apocalypse. Those guys need to settle down, anyone who is prepping to spend time killing other people needs to be examined by a professional.
lol, the Zombie apocalypse is a good scenario to plan for. No one gets offended, nobody advocates for zombies. But, a proper prepper prepares privately. He practices to be a grey man and blends in to the background noise. Some may think he's homeless and kinda crazy. The "normals" avoid the crazy ones.

Overlanding rigs have become the new Bro Dozers. I shouldn't criticize though, I'm building mine to be a long term camper rig. I still have the stock wheels and tires on it, haha.

I remember the drop top Dakota...there was a beat up one running around my way well past it's due date. As to ugly Rangers? The mid nineties flare side splash model was pretty frumpy. Though it has aged better than I thought it would. The problem mostly with that vintage, was the color pallet. That awful purple especially. Seemed like they were trying to draw in the female crowd. Given the popularity of cute little trucks with horrible paint jobs at that time...Trackers, Sidekicks, X90s and the like...it's quite possible Ford was following suit.

I'm a funeral director and embalmer. Trust me, they don't really wake up and chase you around. ?

My nomination. My friend Bobby's rig. Except for the sheetmetal there isn't much Ranger left.
Dana 70 axles and the diesel engine and trans out of a military Hummer.
