To all who have shared interest and/or asked for measurements over the past few years. I do apologize for leaving anyone hanging. I'm not full time on any of the forums these days. I recently received a message regarding this project and resurrected this thread. I am posting this for any and all...
There was another guy on here that had done a similar thing with the Super Cab. I opted for the Super Crew specifically for the extra interior space for weatherproof storage and dogs. The extra 6" of bed was going to do me no favors.
Boost isn't really something you "need" to watch while towing per se. It certainly isn't a bad thing, though, it's not a necessity. Hence the reason the truck didn't come with one...that, and pinching pennies. If you are modifying/tuning/racing the truck, a boost gauge is a handy tool. On a...
I actually own a complete set. I ordered them the second week of March with a promise of a mid April ship date...they shipped within a week. They seem to under promise and over deliver, which is rare in this day and age. Excellent product as well.
...what @Frenchy said. Plus the potentiality for long term fuel trim issues. Any air lost that is not accounted for will have the fuel adjusted accordingly. Best not to do it without tuning for it bare minimum.
I remember the drop top Dakota...there was a beat up one running around my way well past it's due date. As to ugly Rangers? The mid nineties flare side splash model was pretty frumpy. Though it has aged better than I thought it would. The problem mostly with that vintage, was the color pallet...
Yahoo Lifestyle....pfft. No meat, no potatoes in that veiled advertisement for GM. No defined testing protocol either. Might as well call Stevie Wonder and ask him which one looks best.
I did not. I ended up going with the Livernois gig....I had ants in my pants. Go figure, three weeks later and now the Ford tune is available. Eh, I'm super happy with the LM tune so I'll stick with it.
I can dig it. No need to go full Monty if you don't need to. I'm sure you can slay that dragon fairly easily. Thanks for the compliment. Can't wait to see what you come up with.
I towed a Cherokee out of a ditch with my WRX wagon one snowy evening. Pretty satisfying. The AWD system on a Subie is no joke. Especially when paired with a set of Blizzaks...and three hundred horses under the hood. No disrespect to Jeep, I've owned a few. I'll likely never own another though...
Thanks! Located in the mitten...north of Ann Arbor. Outbacks and Foresters are the conveyance of choice for the city folk. It used to be Volvos and Saabs but, Subaru has captured most of that market. Just a few miles north every third vehicle is a Ford truck of some stripe.
I barked up this tree about a month ago. As of now, nobody makes anything pre-fab. Goose Gear claims to be "working on it", but no ETA. I decided to take on the challenge myself. This might be a bit more than you are looking for but, here is a link to my setup...if you haven't seen it already...
Might be able to scoop it up at Michaels or Jo-Ann or some other fabric store. That said, I ordered it from eBay. It was pretty inexpensive...maybe around $10/yd.
The fabric is 1000D Cordura. The kind of stuff that backpacks are made from. Definitely not as forgiving to work with as carpet but, it's water and stain resistant, dog hair doesn't get sewn into it and, easy to clean.
The attachment is just some sort of artifact from my original post. It was supposed to be the pictures. But the pictures are all included in the post. Nothing more to see in the attachment.
I'm about 2000 miles due east of you. Kinda far for a weekend jaunt. If I get some time or, the right offer...I might tear it apart and make some cut sheets so it can be replicated. I though about doing this as I was building but, I have a hard time stopping once I get going.
