What I really want to have done is to get a matte black vinyl hood wrap with graphic done, with a ghosted in topographical image. My fear though is that the brutal Florida sun will cook that vinyl and cause more issues.

It won't.....Obviously we are very dry here in Colorado but we get in the triple digits in summer and it definitely bakes the hood good. I've had the wrap on for 3 summers and not a bit of issue with the heat. Like I said in another post, it's the brutal winter cold that causes issues for wraps. Mine is a 3M product and the color is Shadow Black. 3M specifications say it has a working life of 5-7 years.

I was washing my truck off yesterday after a little day trip to go wheelin' in it, and I noticed this paint damage on the hood:

My inclination is to sand it to bare metal where it's flaking up, clean it up really well, and then cover it with touch-up paint. It wont be the prettiest repair, but I'm hoping it stops any further damage. Does anybody have any other suggestions?
It's battle scars...I had a bolt fly into my front edge and left two dents...PDR fixed them but paint had to be touched up...
