Really hate how my truck doesnt have any side indicating lights. The turn signal is also close to the grille which I find pretty odd and unsafe. Anyways my totally genius idea was to turn my sidemarkers into turn signals but just wondering if anyones done this or has any good ideas how to do it easily. I was thinking to use a 5pin relay for each side marker and just use t tap connectors to tap into the turn signal circuit. The only problem I can see is using bright LED sidemarkers and having hyperflashing which would just get annoying now also having to add resistors. Curious what you guys think

An old school method is connect the negative of the sidemarker bulb to the positive of the turn bulb.

That was a common factory GM thing for 20+ years.

I used to modify my fleet of about fifty 1980s Econolines to this wiring scheme.
As far as Rangers...
Offhand, I dunno how it might work on our electronic BCM vehicles. At minimum would need to see wiring schematic.

You have a side signal on your mirror.

only if you have a lariat.

I really want heated side mirrors, so have been tempted to get lariat mirrors for my xlt
As weather improves, I'll be taking my mirrors apart to see what I can do to add heating. I've dozens of various 12V silicon heating pads, I'm sure I can add heating. I've done it on many other vehicles.
If it turns out, I'll post a story.

You can use led strip lights in the fender vents, and tap into the signal wire up front, there's a writeup on here somewhere, i wanted to do what your thinking but thought it's going to need a double filament bulb and new socket, i coulda been wrong but never tried, so i went the other way i mentioned above.
