Damn ! That makes quite a difference! How much difference does it make in the size of your wallet ?

Not cheap but it is an option for those looking for a streamline look but easy access.

Had them for quite some time and in and out truck several times daily

BUT....snow and ice - not in Florida?

Ive seen these on other trucks, but have no idea how well they operate in the winter when the slush builds and freezes.

anyone have any experience with that?

My only experience is the build up on convention steps that you can kick off huge chunks,
Or falls off then I run over it...

I had a set on my 2007 F150 through 5 years of PA winters and everything it entails. Snow, Ice, Road salt/chemicals, often with thaw/freeze cycles daily. Basically the worst combination of all of the above.

Never once had an issue. They deployed and closed reliably every single time. The motor is tucked up inside high in the bracket and well protected.

Towards the end of 4th year, and into 5th, they got noisy as the aluminum bracket mechanism had worn enough that it creaked noticeably as it moved. I don't blame the unit though, as I basically never maintained them, which you're supposed to wash and grease them annually. After the first three years I got lazy and only washed them, never reapplied grease to the hinge joints once a year.

I debated heavily on whether to get them for my Ranger; wife unit loved the ones on the F150. The costs have climbed so high though that it was more of a priority for me to put the money towards a good bed cover, so I ended up with regular running boards (GoRhino RB20 Slim)

I really liked the look of the truck without boards/steps, but wife and kids needed something to climb up into the cab.

Be aware though; I can't tell from your profile pic, but if you don't have mud flaps in the front, a lot of rocks can get kicked up into the rocker panels, leaving lots of tiny paint chip dings as a result. Running boards of some sort help to protect the rockers from mud and road debris.

Yeah , I thought bout that , would probably coat it down low or that rock chip tape, it already has something like that in spots...

I took the stock driver side off and left the passenger side on. Mom and wife need it to get in but I hate how they look on.

Can you post a pic of the RB20 Slims? I am thinking of changing mine and was looking at the RB10 & RB20 slim models. I wanted something a little more tucked away than my N-Fab Epyx.

Thanks.

I had the power deployable steps on my previous Ford truck and really liked them.

Seems to be about $1000 more than factory boards plus cost of installation. (No way can I do that myself) Very tempting!
