Can anyone recommend a trustworthy mechanic / shop in the DFW Texas area? My ranger needs front struts, rear shocks and an add a leaf spring set installed. Then an alignment. I have the parts already, got them from s3m (a sponsor). I just do not have the skill or the shop, lift and tools to do the coil overs in the front. The rear shocks I can do in the drive way with basic tools and if I got my fat but motivated I could do the leaf springs as well. I called a few places around town I found on line and they quoted a number that sounded like I was buying a black market kidney... I have not done any work on cars in a while past basic maintenance, but I guessed around four hours labor (at the Mitchell rate lol) for the struts is what a shop would charge. I think someone skilled and familiar with the right stuff could do it in less time. Thanks in advance for any good shops to report and good prices.

Don't know about price, but trustworthy. There's a dude over on bobistheoilguy.com, user name 'clinebarger'. General do-it-all mechanic with his own shop. Pretty knowledgeable and straight shooter that I'd trust to work on my stuff, do it right, and not rip me off. You'd have to contact him through the board though, I don't have any of his contact info.

When I had some suspension work done I used Texas motorworx. They specialize in taking Raptors to the next level but they seemed thrilled to be able to work on the Ranger. I wouldn't necessarily use them for general mechanic's work but they did a great job with my Bilstein setup and alignment. Their turn around was impressive, finished everything the same day the parts came!

I am in north fort worth near alliance airport and the speedway.
If you can come up to Sherman, we can slap all that on, on a Saturday. I just did what you're asking about on a brand new Bronco, minus the add a leaf, yesterday.

do you have a shop in sherman? it is not too far for me. I typically head toward the panhandle or oklahoma to camp out or find a back road on the weekend anyway, so thats not far off my normal. What would you charge to do the front strut change out and the rear leafs? I can do the rear shocks at home easily.
