an interesting... frustrating thing happened today... came out and the key fob would not work. i figured maybe the battery on the fob went bad, but alas when i went to start the truck it did not - no clicking, no lights, no nothing. i popped the hood, checked some of the fuses and checked the connections to the battery and all seemed fine. soon as i was about to jump it... i tried the key fob once more... and the truck unlocked... and it started right up..

i am concerned as there seems to be no apparent reason why this happened - any one experience this?

Others have had the same thing. Not sure that anyone has ever found a cause for it going into this weird "deep" sleep mode. Some reported disconnecting the negative and reconnecting and it worked after, others had the same experience as you.

Haven't heard of anyone that ran into it twice yet, so maybe you got your gremlin out.

Same thing happened to me, except I was at the dealer picking it up from routine service. Multiple mechanics came out and looked, but they did not see anything either. I believe multiple forum members have had this occur, but it always seems to be a one and done incident.

Yesterday after starting and driving mine had the "fob not detected" message pop up and then go away. I can't help but speculate that with all the various RF sources in our world that on occasion the truck gets interference mixed signals.

thanks for the response - good to know about the disconnecting of the battery to rid it quickly if it happens again.

Yeah, the maintenance desk person came out first, then he brought a tech. The tech then went and got the head mechanic. By the time he came out I tried the fob again, and it worked.
