Hello,. We just towed with our ranger for the first time. It's a xlt, 4x4, factory tow package, fx4 and I installed the Ford trailer brake control. The trip was about 200 miles on a Friday and 200 miles on the Monday. On the drive I kept hearing a clicking from area where the brake controller was installed. This is under the steering wheel near the fuse box (per the instructions). The noise reminds me of a Geiger counter. Its not a loud click but persistent. It only occured when the trailer was attached. Does any one have a similar experience. Is my controller bad? The indicator lights on the controllers knob do not indicate a fault and the controller seems to be working. Trailer is about 2800 and the controller is set at about 5. Thank you.
