TPMS

I bought some lariat wheels and tires, new take offs, I bought new sensors for them TPMS-42 motorcraft, do they have to be calibrated?

@Doc I was looking for info on this yesterday and some have said they just drive around and the computer will find them. Can't hurt to give it a try

You can get the little training fob for around $13. It worked great on my wife's Focus.

Yeah, they are the newest models ( guessing)TPMs-42 and might self learn (hopefully)

Ive been all over the internet, and I can’t find one that’s compatble with the TPMS-42 HC3Z (2019-2020 Ranger)

Most tire shops have the tool to calibrate the TPMS. When I had my new wheels & tires mounted I took new TPMS & they used their tool to calibrate the new ones. Took all of 10 minutes.

I just did this, and with 5 sensors. No tool or reset/relearn procedure is required. The truck will detect the new sensors on its own.

I bought a set of takeoff rims last year and set up with snow tires and TPMS-42s. I found that the truck self learned the new tpms units by either
- Driving 2 miles or less,
- Changing the air pressure of each tire a couple of psi with the ignition on in my driveway.

You're worrying about nothing. Swap em out and drive it and they self relearn.
Couldn't find it in the ranger manual but other fords are at least 2min over 20 mph and they sync up.
