Where are some of you finding your info? The only thing I can find as their reasoning, is due to indoor pollution causing respiratory issues, like asthma in children. I see nothing about outdoor issues, or any climate change related reasoning. I personally think they should just put a warning on them and let the consumer make their own decisions. There are bigger fish to fry than this.
Not too hard to find...from USA today in 2019

There’s no pathway to stabilizing the climate without phasing gas out of our homes and buildings. This is a must-do for the climate and a livable planet,” said Rachel Golden of the Sierra Club’s building electrification campaign.

One small glass and the next morning one heck of a headache :whew:. Glad I grew up when I did,

Man, I am glad I grew up when I did and still live in the mid-west. All this craziness seems to originate on the coasts. Maybe it's breathing all that salt air. Or, maybe it's having too many people per square foot.

We grew up knowing where our food came from, and it wasn't the grocery store. Home preserved without all the goverment mandated chemicals. We survived just fine and probably had less health issues. We live in such a sanitized envirorment now our bodies can't tolorate anything. Better than the past, not so sure, just more convenient.

Off my soap box now.

Where exactly do they think all this clean electric energy is going to come from, and how is it going to get to our homes? On the existing grid? Where is all that new copper going to come from, so every home can have 1000 amp service? They only think the end game not the whole path needed to get there. And will all have minimum affect on climate change anyway. Has anyone ever thought this may be a natural climate cycle that we can do nothing about anyway.

So today our governor Hochul said she is banning using gas to heat any new homes built in NY supposedly starting soon. So fireplaces are out also. Said it's the main cause of global warming. I need a bottle of whiskey to figure this all out. The grid in our area is stressed now. I need to move. All hail the queen.
It has nothing to do with global warming. Once again all you have to look at is who funded the study. In this case it was: Rocky Mountain Institute, Physicians for Social Responsibility, Mothers Out Front, Sierra Club. Certainly those groups don't have an agenda against something like natural gas, no way....

The Sierra Club is just an extremist lobbying org. They would have us riding bikes and eating lettuce if it were up to them. Luckily, it's not.

This current push is all about respiratory health, not climate based. If it's truly proven that 30% of young people develop asthma, due to poorly ventilated gas stoves and furnaces, than it should be addressed. Again, I don't personally agree that a 100% ban is the way to go, so you know which side I'm on.

These all or nothing approaches are just going to keep the country further divided.

I remember grain alcohol parties being really big growing up. We'd all chip in get a bottle and a bunch of different punches and mix up a few big bowls. It didn't take much to get you wasted and (like you said) a killer headache the next day! ?

The only positive I can draw from such a proposal is that green energy folks are coming to a realization that fire creates smoke and smoke contains hazardous things. The next dot to connect is that the majority of the world cooks with some form of fire. Do you think they use electric to cook in Africa, India, china (90% of the world population). Restaurants business would be devastated to cook electric... Government cafeteria wouldn't be able to cook a burger... Scary as the stupid idea is, when they can't get a vege pizza ... They will change their mind
Fine people if they burn a steak on an electric stovetop.

But it was a gift and I had to try it. Probably use the rest to start the woodstove.

Must be okay, because the FDA has approved it.
"The FDA is responsible for protecting the public health".
when i was in elementary school my class took a field trip to an ice cream "plant". one of the prissy kids pointed out how dirt and stuff was getting into the mixers. The tour guide was quick to move us past that part and tell us how the fda inspected on a regular basis and they always got flying colors lol.
