Tug Missouri headed back to Duluth MN down the canal at Hancock MI. Not a great pic but I'll post this to show how little the leaves are out here. Seems they were towing a crane barge at the same time but I can't locate a photo of the three right now. Seen here is the riprap barge.

View of Manitou Island and Gull Rock lighthouse off the Keweenaw peninsula MI. Lots of shove ice still seen here.

wow end of days winter lol... at least where I live it would be. from a good distance that lighthouse almost looks like a submarine.

Here is the cutter Spar at work in the canal today. This canal cuts through the Keweenaw peninsula at Houghton MI. This cutter is 225ft long and home port is Duluth MN. We watched them attach to this buoy and pull it on board, then spend 1/2 hour hour serving it and put it back. The canal flows and we could clearly see there thrusters in use.

Looks familiar! thats one nasty job. all sorts of slime and grime build up on stuff that stays in the water. the smell is the bad part when its river stuff.
