What gets me is the complaint that we rely too much on China and the simultaneous complaints when the price of goods rise as a result of a lower dependence on a foreign country. The reliance on China comes as a result of Americans demanding to have their goods as cheap as possible and the Chinese government not giving a shit about working conditions or the environment (until recently).

The supply chain is a fragile thing. A global pandemic still raging in countries where many electronics and metals are made and a crackdown on coal mining in China has led to an increased dependency on other resources, which are key in production of goods in other countries.

It's a good time to keep the one you have...?
Or buy another one quick. Used car prices will go through the roof even more so now. :D

My neighbor recently sold their home (similar value to ours) for double what they invested...if only my wife wouldn't mind living in my truck for a few years... ?

Unless the numbers have changed last I heard only about 10% of the recycle material that is picked up in the US actually gets recycled. I still separate my clean plastics from regular trash to put it out I doubt much gets recycled. I set my cans aside an when I get a decent amount I catch one of the "scrapers" going though grabbing metal to recycle an give them to them. I'd love to see us get away from doing so much business with China. We are funding them replacing us as the lead superpower.
Many years ago a bud of mine started a cardboard recycling business, or at least he collected it. In short order he was overwhelmed with cardboard, way more than he could sell to recyclers. I don't think he was in business longer than a year. People will happily separate their trash and recycle things but the actual market for it isn't as large as people think it is.

Set her up in an apartment. She's probably use to living alone anyways the way you rack up miles on your truck. :giggle:?

I hate change too but I love money more. ?
Mine has more than tripled and I'd sell tomorrow but the markets so over inflated I'd end up paying more somewhere else.

Wife's lease on her Infiniti is up in a few weeks. We're shopping for her replacement now. Prices are definitely higher but we're going to pull the trigger ASAPbecause they will absolutely get worse from here. Thought of just keeping the Infiniti but 1. I couldn't even sell it for her buyout right now and, 2. With 42k miles the quality is junk.

Nissan in general seems to have slipped in quality over the last few years.

My 2011 Frontier was great.

My brand new 2018 Frontier was a junker. I spent more time in the "Service Lounge" with that truck over 6 months than any other vehicle I'd owned for years.

It's actually quite frustrating. Between my wife and I we have had 3 Infiniti products and 2 Nissan products. The first two Infiniti (2001 I30, 2013 G37) and the 2 Nissan products (2006 Titan, 2016 Titan XD) were literally flawless. Never saw a dealer for a repair on any of the 4. This (2019 QX50) Infiniti has been in about 4 times since new, which itself isn't that big of a deal. With 42k miles on it it has rattles throughout, the paint is chipping all over, the rear electronic hatch has failed and fallen on my wife twice, the EVAP canister has been replaced twice and needs it again (car fills with the smell of gas). I understand that nothing is perfect but we had a Hyundai Santa Fe that was literally 50% of the cost of this that held up substantially better. Most likely will move her to a Ford Edge.

We used to have a 2012 Edge that my wife traded this year for a Honda CRV. Nothing other than routine maintenance done on the Edge...it was a good, solid car. I can only hope if you get a new one that you have as good a luck with it as we did ours.

Good to hear, that's what we're hoping for. Though she wants no payment on the next one so hoping to find one with under 50k miles for about $25k we can buy in cash. Can't imagine it will be any worse than we're dealing with on her current one (big ole' knock on wood lol)

that's it ? only 3?
I wonder just HOW MANY RANGERS, an aluminum beer can recycling program would “support”, in a dedicated recycling program ?
And what are the “odds” of it ever happening ?

I would be willing to be among the first to consider such an effort; any extra Ford (or whoever) benefits ??

Soooo, you'd be OK driving something similar to this (early Mustang, body made from 5000 beer cans) ???
