Growing up in Kansas, amateur tornado hunting was a springtime hobby. Tornado warning in the neighboring County? Call a buddy and load up a cooler.
Nowadays I'm smarter and happy to stay far away.

And no water either!...
Arizona...no Hurricanes and no tornadoes.
Best,
Phil
My dad was a civilian employee (after retirement) at Ft. Leavenworth from 1960 -1962 before we moved to Florida. I recall the numerous tornado drills in the home basement, snow deep enough where we kids could make usable tunnels to crawl through and so much snow a Road Grader from the nearby army post would pick up my dad and take him to work.Growing up in Kansas, amateur tornado hunting was a springtime hobby. Yep. I don't miss Kansas at all.My dad was a civilian employee (after retirement) at Ft. Leavenworth from 1960 -1962 before we moved to Florida. Went back through the old neighborhood a few years back (last time was in 1990) and found most of our immediate neighborhood missing. A brand new apartment building that opened right before we moved was gone. Clerk at the nearby convenience store suspected it 'was tornadoes'.![]()
The guy standing next to the truck is not the driver. It's a friend of the driver.
Probably only had liability insurance, assuming since he's a highschool kid and at least trying to work. But yes, comprehensive would cover the truck and medical bills.reading the go fund me, this is the quality of teachers out there....yes it's making me seem like the grammar police, but it's possibly why youth today aren't leaving high school with the best educations. Do better Miss Jaimes.

also to note, they are doing the go fund me to get him some Tylenols and a new truck....I'm assuming if he had insurance, they would be taking care of the truck???
This kid gonna be rich for driving into a tornado.
Imma plot a google maps route to tornado alley and try my luck....

Bet he sees 50% at most of what's collected in his name.
Wow!Hi Doug,
I was part of Ford's engineering recruitment team...we were so appalled at the poor communications and writing of new graduates that we had to create a finishing school for all new hires..The grads spend half a day on the job and half a day in class to take such as Effective Report Writing... Teamwork etc. The training program was two years and the Finishing School was the first year of this two year program. It is sad what colleges and universities are turning out for degreed students...
Best,
Phil
The kid barely speaks english - he may very well be the first in his family. Forget the leftist 'gofundme' payday..... I'm glad he wasn't injured (visibly).
Yes, we were sold on the notion the 'disadvantaged' were being brought up to the level of the majority, when it was actually the other way around. My kids graduated HS during the early to mid 1980s - I give'em hell all of the time, especially about basic history of the state they were raised in.Hi Doug,

You might be on to something.Yes, we were sold on the notion the 'disadvantaged' were being brought up to the level of the majority, when it was actually the other way around. My grandkids seem to be learning 'diversity and inclusion' at the expense of everything useful. It seems that all of my grandkids are using chromebooks to do some percentage of their lessons online. This past Christmas, I bought my eldest granddaughter a Macbook Pro and loaded it with Windows 10 Home (Microsoft 365) and Mac OS Monterrey.
She has always been fascinated by my Mac 'museum' so I thought she would benefit from something up to date. So far so good. So far, the 'trickle down economy' within the greater family has been iPads and iPhones. It's what grandpas are for I'm finding out....![]()
