A tornado was captured on video in Elgin Texas yesterday.

Look what it did to this pickup.

Truly incredible for those of us who have never experienced this. A much shorter version with just the truck has been widely circulating since yesterday - future Chevy commercial no doubt.

That is truly frightening and impressive at the same time.
What would I do? Well, if I were the one filming and see a truck get spun and flipped by a tornado, I sure wouldn't keep driving TOWARDS the tornando!

Yup...I bet the local news agency is looking for this guy now.
A twitter comment stated local media is reporting the driver was a 17yo male. He's being prepped for what's coming....not necessarily weather related.

And THEN he drove away in it! Holy cow!
The kid's eyes were probably as big as silver dollars. "Da fuk! Dad will shit a brick!" I'm glad there were no apparent injuries.

That'll buff out. Not so sure about the stain in the seat.

Some fantastic footage.

We had a tornado come through my area back in MA in 2011. I was lucky and it went right around my house but most weren't so lucky. The downtown area was hit that hardest and it took years for things to get back to normal. TV and videos don't due them any justice until you've lived through one. I hope everyone was ok in TX and one reason I chose AZ as we have very little in the way of natural disasters here.

I like AZ
I also like to get black out drunk some Saturday afternoons
what scares me, is the combination of both.
what happens if i pass out on the driveway and the sun cooks me like a sausage on the BBQ?

I'm fair skinned. Arizona would cause me Cancer

I've never experienced a tornado, or a full force hurricane. Both are on my bucket list.
I love heavy thunderstorms and heavy rains.
I have enjoyed a mild earthquake. It made me feel like i had a few too many wobbly pops.

The most memorable weather events involved my artic experiences....when you have a blizzard so bad you need a rope to make your way around. Let go of the rope and get lost, you die.
It's 110 here on average most of the summer. It wouldn't take long for you to go from looking like this.

Hi RP,

Margie and I were driving our Alfa 40 ft RV through Texas when a twister hit about 100 ft in front of us... We hit the brakes and pulled to the side but the twister was headed in front of us....We were huddled in the coach by the time but saw huge signs on the freeway folding like cardboard with twisted metal structure. This was Margie's second tornado...my 4th... We were lucky... both of us need a change of clothes after the freeway one...

Arizona...no Hurricanes and no tornadoes.

Best,
Phil
