I had one of these on my 2011 F-150 and it worked nicely. You do have to drill holes in your tailgate, and it can be in the way if you are sliding something into your bed. Too bad you don't live near me as I still have it but will not install on the Ranger.
I watched the install video. Not sure that I want to put this on a brand new truck. I did notice a few holes in the tailgate which was why I thought this may be an idea. I did not see the holes before the spray liner. Probably to support the drop in liner?

Anyway I like the harbor freight ladder for something to use while someone comes up with a more permanent solution.

the harbor freight stool looks useful if you're doing anything under the hood too. I'm 5'7 an it was a stretch to pour oil in when I changed it without something to step on.

Is the install easy? Wife wants one for hers.
The instruction says 15 min installation. Took me and a friend 1 hr. i have crummy socket set and I’m 75.
a young guy like you probably can put it on in 15 min.
im not complaining, if it took 8 hrs to install I would still buy it.

I dunno, the tailgate dampener almost got me with the T50 bit you needed. Luckily Wife had a T45 that worked in her socket set. Home Depot trips count towards install time in my book. Still bought a T50 last time I was at Home Depot just in case.
