I have a 2019 Ranger and after Apple's release of the IOS 14 update, my Sync no longer connects with certain apps, especially music apps.

My SYNC system is up to date, I use an Apple certified cable and when I plug my phone in, via USB, the CarPlay turns on and I'm able to use my map apps no problem.
But when I open apps like the "I Heart Radio" or "Pandora" apps on my Ford MFD (multi functional display), they don't open and if I leave it alone I will get an error saying not able to connect, try again?

The only way for these apps to open and work is to open the app on my phone first, wait for it to load, then I can open and use the app on my Ford MFD.

Any ideas why this is happening?

Thanks

I'm not sure if apple works the same way but you might check for app updates as well. With android, at least mine, if there is an app update that hasn't installed yet it may not show up in Sync unless I open it on my phone first.

Thanks for the reply.
My phone is set up to auto-install all app updates, but this wasn't the case. I even deleted and reinstalled the apps, I get the same thing.
Just another stupid Apple update that fixes one thing and screws up a thousand other things.
