Has anyone on here used the Superchips Flashpaq ? I ordered one and am curious if anyone on here has tried this.

Never heard of this one before, but I find it rather amusing that they chose color screen as the first "feature" of the tuner module.

Looking at it, it seems it's on par with the generic tunes available with the SCT BDX tuner unit. One downside is you almost certainly run a custom tune from any third party company like 5 Star, Unleashed etc. This means that you're probably stuck with what these guys offer and probably will not send you tuning update files if you make a significant change or need to have something adjusted.

Says it is internet updatable, and has three different tunes to choose from. Main reason for purchasing this unit is the Tow tune. Going to be frequently towing a Winnebago travel trailer and trying to do all I can to improve the tow experience. Winnebago 1800BH (3,660 lbs dry weight with 382 lb hitch weight). Already ordered the Icon Multi-Rate Leaf Spring Kit per Stage3Motorsports recommendation. Also went with the Tekonsha Prodigy RF brake controller.

Typically what they mean by updates are to the unit itself and not to the tuning files. Probably not a bad idea to contact their support to clarify this.

And looking at the Superchips unit, it appears that these tunes are going to be generic boost/fuel remaps and unlike a custom tune are not linked to the vehicle PCM strategy. So running it while yes would increase power it likely does so by sacrificing efficiency. The generic tunes tend to run almost excessively rich to avoid having to make adjustments to the spark timing. This can lead to significantly decreased mileage/gallon, increased carbon buildup, and possible damage to the catalytic converter if set to aggressively. One thing to keep in mind many people on here have already reported issues with fuel dilution in the crankcase, so running a unoptimized tune like this one could certainly exacerbate it if your engine happens to suffer from it as well.

If they offered the ability to run third party custom tunes, then I'd say go for it. But for long term drivability, I'd say you might be better off with getting a SCT device and go to a custom tuner like Unleased or 5 Star.

I haven't bought one for the Ranger yet but I do have one for my Dodge. It made a very noticeable difference on the 93 Performance tune and it's very easy to use. I think they do sell custom tunes. But unless you have some major mods it's not really necessary.

I'm really interested in this product for a variety of reasons. (Price $350, Speedo calibration, much more)

Anyway, I like the features. I'm pretty impressed with the device and it's claims. Despite the likelihood of "one-size-fits-all", "generic" tunes, It is cheaper than a tire size adjustment tool and throttle response module combined. Now I understand why you were asking if he sent his tuner back or not. You Can't buy it in California, it's not CARB certified yet. At least I assume your from California. Most people use the correct two letter code for California, which is CA not Ca. But then I see your trying to live up to your signature.
