fellas, it's a WRX. there shouldn't be a soda of any kind in it. just a vape pen. @Doc did the dealer give you your official WRX vape pen at the time of sale? if they didn't, then you got taken for a ride. it's part of the look! you could shred travis pastrana in the back woods of who-knows-where and jump jumps higher than him and everyone would say, "dude has skill, but he don't have his vape pen so it don't count."

thems the rules.

-----
the above is full of sarcasm from a former WRX owner who misses his former ride, and somehow never received his vape pen from the dealer, either.

You can put a Badass tune on that Focus !
Not without getting bumped from the classes I run the car it. Honestly if Ford Performance didn't pull the tune they had on sale late 2017 within 48 hours of releasing it on the store I would have gotten that one. But that was before the head gasket recall and I'm betting Ford finally filled Ford Performance in on the issue and advised they don't release the tune unless they want to take on the warranty on all those cars that had the wrong gaskets installed. I'm not sure that anyone that did get the purchase in before it was pulled from the store every got delivery. I also thought about trying to get that Mountune one that they put on the 50 Heritage Orange RSs in the UK. But, so far I've been happy with car. Oddly, the Ranger had a tune (Ford Performance) installed at about 3,333 miles.

Well, probably the worst time in history(recent WV weather history anyways) to get rid of a Forrester AWD and trade for a 2wd car that has hardly any rubber on the tires, and is a hybrid with batteries that are not supposed to like cold weather... BUT , he came home the other day in it after a 1 hour plus trip on I64 right in the middle of the storm and it looked like an ice cube coming up our road, I was waiting in the Ranger because I was pretty damn sure he wasn't to make it the last 100 yards, but he just kept on coming, the little Civic that could and did ... WAY better than expected when I saw the low profile tires.
Still very weird to me that it's on and you can drive it , but it's not "running", it's "ready" , remote start may or may not involve the gas engine , acceleration may or may not involve the gas engine... very cool creeping around on just battery ?, dash is color coordinated somewhat , green for EV ... will it last ? Will it be worth anything in 5 years ?? I have no idea , but he is covered on it for 8 years thru Honda, so that's pretty good...

Not an expert but here's my limited experience with a hybrid Toyota Camry and Sienna from a previous employer.
Most times the remote start would activate the gas engine allowing the car to "warm up" a little. As I began to travel they both would bounce back and forth between gas and electric based on accelerator pressure.
Both vehicles allowed for electric only use as I recall but I never used that function.

I imagine Honda to be somewhat similar. Glad the boy made it home safely. Good deal for sure.

It doesn't appear to have a transmission, gas engine is somehow "clutched" in when needed, and,the gas engine is an "Atkinson Cycle" ? Which I've never herd of but it has something to do with almost no torque, which I guess the electricity makes up for ? I told him not worry and just drive it , I kinda pushed him and ok'd it so I'll eat it in 8 years if need be...
As as the brightest ✨️ note , he's already ordering goodies and wants me to help install stuff, so we get to do that together...

OK, I was paying $500 a month for the Mustang the 24 Ranger and the 22WRX. When I called the insurance company about the new 24WRX the premium dropped to $324 for all three the only difference is the 2024WRX is an automatic and I noticed the 24 top end is not as high as the 22 maybe that has something to do with it.. I won’t ask them why .. that is with progressive thank you Flo ..

I got 1000 miles on it now it’s going for service and then to Brown’s speed shop in Gainesville for a tune… yayyyy ..☺

Sounds a lot like the Toyota hybrids. The transmission is a CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission). Ironically, Subaru's had them for a while in their gas sedans. They don't shift like a normal transmission. They vary the torque to the drive wheels depending on the accelerator.

For me, the appeal of the WRX is the engine sound. My tuned GTI could never sound like that.

I drove the little Hybrid yesterday, Damn , I think ? it will beat the Ranger , it's certainly smoother getting there... oh, Honda pipes in all KINDS of fake noise and even fake shifts in sport mode, it's cool ? and funny ?... in all honesty, I believe the electric boost might be better than a turbo, although far more expensive and complicated... neat little car

Just checked it , 0 to 60 in 6.2 according to the interwebby...
