I have a Mishimoto Wrinkle Black Intercooler Piper & Boot Kit and intercooler on the tailgate - will go in tonight!

5-Star updated my tunes since I did not even think about the intercooler until the day before I got my tunes and the item popped up on offerup.... Super awesome of them to do that.

The hose clamps are ok. I ended up towing 10400# gross weight from 1100' to 7800' with a naturally aspirated 2.3l on 33" tires when a few of the hose clamps decided to leak - shutting down any boost.

Spent the afternoon under a pine tree in 60 degree sunshine removing all the pipes and reinstalling. Ordered the nice clamps to help avoid that in the future.

Interesting thread, but I feel like I just took Ayahuasca. I can't piece it together, especially the post with the wreck and mention of a canvas?

Purchased a set of take-offs from a 2024 Tundra - same size as the offroad tires from a 2021 Taco -
Ooops - the lug nuts are different. Thank gawd the seller included the lug nuts and spare - $460 .

4000 miles in 14 days AZ to WA and all over the PNW.

Trying to piece this together I get:

1. Vehicle was totaled in OR.
2. It was purchased by a SoCal rebuilder.
3. OP purchased from the rebuilder and started mods, which continue.
4. I think OP towed 10,400 lbs. with a truck rated at 7,000 lbs. and only had an issue with clamps on an intercooler.

After that, I'm following the mods, but then I hear about something called "Wrecker Games".

99% correct - GTW vs GCWR (Gross Combination Weight Rating)

SC 4x4 Combined weight max = 12400 per Ford.

TRIP #1: Truck + 24' Coyote Expandable Trailer
I stopped at Loves and paid $8 for a private weigh:

Front axle: 2640
Rear axle: 3780
Trailer ax: 3960
GW: 10380

Camper, 4 days of camping goods, 4 adults, Firesticks, Stick throwers and targets.. I had 2000# of excess capacity. I did have 33" tires - so that probably sucked up the hp a bit.

Trip #2: Truck + 26' Laguna Sailboat
Hauling a 26' lead keel sailboat to Mead was a little heavier. I was running the stock tires and none of the turbo mods. Not nearly as much fun:

Steer axle: 2660
Drive axle: 2960
Trailer (dual) 6580
GW: 12200

OK, it gets better. The GCWR for a SupeCrew 4x4 is 12500. 12400 is for a SuperCab 4x4. From the pictures, he has a SuperCrew. But he was way over the GVWR of the truck which is 6050. And also over his rear axle rating, whichon my '19 SCAB FX4 is 3470. The GCWR is not the only rating you need to worry about.

And what are these turbo modifications he was talking about?

I found a Eibach Stage One new in the box on Offerup to replace the puck lift. Also installed BDS Shackles and replace the UCA. I set the lift to max that added about 1". The BDS Shackles leveled the ride and reduced the drive shaft angle. the UCAs allowed the alignment shop to zero the caster and camber.

88,000 miles.
