She's got skills.
She's a keeper!
In her defense, she knew it was a tire issue right away.... so kudos to her for recognizing there was even a problem.

What you described would be a blown shock, not wheel weights
I’m not so sure Garret - a blown shock on a smooth road has no reason to make a wheel hop - corner of the truck might ride low but hop, why?

Yeah had a similar experience last year. Went camping on the beach north of here. In this state its legal to drive and camp on the beach in designated areas. Had a good few days and coming back with a mate in his Mazda BT50 ( Ford Ranger clone sold over here) were running a bit of a race with the tide, back to the ferry, meaning driving on the softer upper part of the beach and dodging other vehicles doing the same. Left the beach, made the ferry, got on the highway and shocking front end shudder and shake.

WTF? Stopped, looked everything OK, tyre not flat, rim fine, balance weights still there. I had a thought and looked on the inside and a big clump of sand was in the inside of the rim. Lay down in the dirt and scraped it out by hand. Back on the road and problem solved.

What I can't understand is why it didn't just fall out, it was after all just dry ,soft, white beach sand, why did it stick in there?

I've been driving that patch of beach for near 40 years in a number of different 4bies and never had that happen before. ( Nissan Patrol, Jeep, Range Rover, Bronco, Kia Sorento, and Ranger)
