We went from Kitty Hawk to the moon in 66 years. How is it possible that 137 years after the first Benz patent, we're still in gas powered vehicles?

Just sayin.

It's possible because they are still the most economical and efficient form of transportation and electric vehicles are neither. Only artificial outside influences make the EV of any interest.

Batteries can not store that much electricity, and have been around for thousands of years. A small Diesel/Gas Generator can run for days providing power to a house with a 20 to 30 gallon tank attached and both engines have been around for 140 years.

I could get the idea of having a hybrid IF they can get the battery replacement cost to reasonable levels. If you have to drop $5000 after a few years for a new battery then I don't see the benefit.
