Yesterday, we had a hitch carrier put onto our SUV so we could use our hitch cargo carrier for a camping trip next week. Last night I put the cargo carrier on and found that it's scrapes the ground coming out of our driveway and that's with nothing in the SUV or on the carrier.
The part that scrapes has a bolt extending down through the frame and out the bottom middle of the cargo basket.
I can take a hacksaw to lop off the extra bolt length sticking out from the nut, but I'm thinking of adding some kind of wood or plastic to the bottom of the cargo carrier to give something to slide on the isn't a nut/bolt.
Any ideas on what material would be good to add for some slide? Where could I get the material on short notice?
Thank you, Jeremy.
