I am having this done on Wednesday. Dealer is charging $520 including alignment on a labor rate of $130 plus shop fees, etc.

An interesting thread for sure, and very informative. My Lariat 4x4 is in the shop as I type this - Bilstein 4600s all of the way around (non leveling). My shop's first experience with a T5 Ranger. Waiting to see what the final charges are. $381 for the shocks-struts.....

First post of this forum but have been reading this thread. I took my 21 4x4 to action gator tire here in Orlando to get an estimated on the install of my Eibach Pro-Truck Coilover 2R Package. Was quoted $1079.99. 5.5 hours of labor for the front and 1.5 for the rear. Needless to say I’ll be shopping around.

For some reason many repairshops have this rediculous amount of hours as necessary. It should be 30 minutes for rear and 3hrs max for the front. I was quoted as high as 1400bux. Found a local riable mechanic shop to do all four struts and shocks plus 1" blocks in the rear for under 600 with alignment in expensive Northern Virginia

For most of these install quotes, the same money buys more than all the tools required to DIY it.

The knowledge, skill building, and self reliance of DIY'ing it though.. priceless.

I paid about 700$ for Ford to install my Fox 2.0 suspension if I remember right.

I ordered Fox 2.0 fronts today from Stage 3 (backordered 4-6 weeks) to match the rears I installed right after purchasing my truck 2.5 years ago. I want to improve the ride more, reduce the front diving some and get a tiny bit more space in the front wheel wells for 265/65R18 tires.

I just received a quote from my local 4WP to install front coilovers for $320. That is regardless of whether I provide them, or purchase from them. Seems pretty good. Anyone here have comments on 4WPs? The local 4WPs in Tigard, OR has pretty good Google reviews.

I was planning to do the job myself but would need $50-100 in tools (couple offset wrenches, ball-joint separator and socket for the axle nut).

Plus I wanted to adjust the springs down a little to reduce the resulting front lift to about 0.5"-1.0" instead of the preset 2.0". That adjustment would have required renting/buying a spring compressor, or paying a shop to do the adjustment, as I hear the Fox's are hard to adjust with the smaller clamp on spring compressors.

Note the cost does not include alignment or shock adjusting, just a simple swap in and swap out of the coilovers. The quote is $620 including adjusting the coilovers to my desired height with an alignment. I will adjust the headlights and fogs myself. I don't expect ACC to need re-calibration for such a small front lift.

That price doesn't seem too bad. I went with the Eibach coilovers and installed them myself. Nice thing with them is you can adjust them on the truck. I set mine with about an inch of lift as well.

I would love to go with Eibach for that reason alone. However, the Fox's suit my usage and desired ride better. My friend has Eibachs on his 4-Runner and is very happy, as are most here on this forum with them.

I was all set on doing the install myself, but for $320 I will save myself the trouble and likely a full day of work.
