2019 Ranger XLT crewcab 4x4 with BDS lift. Advance Trac error has been popping up, which disables all safety sensors. Took to dealer, and they said my tires were too chopped and needed to be replaced. Out on new tires, error still occurs. Put on 4 new ABS sensors and error still occurs. What would be next to check??

The dealership charged you $$$ but didn't fix what you took it in for?

Didn’t charge me, and told me I needed new tires before they could diagnose. Tires were chopped and needed replacement soon.

So, you have hooked up Scanner and (Zero) Codes? it should be coding something,
There are a few different things it could be, that will trip it off. The lost communication sensor should trip a code.
If no codes, then it is going to need a drive with scanner hooked up recording live data PIDS and then note when it trips off and look for what sensor dropped communication.

One of these inputs is dropping off would be my best guess.

YAW_RATE (ANGV) PID.
YAW_RATE_C (ANGV) PID.
ROLL_RATE (ANGV) PID.
LAT_ACCL (ACC) PID.
LAT_ACCL_C (ACC) PID.
LNGACC (ACC) PID.
LONG_ACCL (ACC) PID.

If I do a scan with the truck running and the error displayed, will it pick up a code? Like I said before, the error disappears when the truck is turned off and restarted.

Yes, do a scan before shutting the truck off, the system is resetting the fault at ignition cycle.

There are numerous things that tie into that system, and a code will help pinpoint what sensor or communication is dropping out.

Some items that tie into the system are:

Wiring issue, short to ground
PSCM - Power Steering Cont Module
Steering Angle Sensor - Part of the EPAS (Aka Rack)
ABS Module & Related Components
Wheel Speed Sensors
Stability Sensors (Located in the RCM) Restraint Control Module
Communication between the PSCM, ABS and RCM
The Console Switches
IPC
Road Conditions - So this would tie into Tire Vibration, the dealer recommended replacement of the tires.

My son drove the truck to autozone after the advancetrac message appeared and had them run diagnostics while the truck was running. No error was recovered. Guess it’s back to the dealer.

So, I took the truck back to the dealer, and the issue ended up being a loose steering rack, which explains some of our issues. Alignment wouldn’t hold, steering wheel wasn’t straight, and eventually the advancetrac error occurred. When the tech aligned the wheels, the errors still occurred. He out the truck back up and discovered the steering rack was loose. Once tightened, and realigned, the truck drive much better and no error messages. I took the truck in for crooked steering wheel several months ago and it looks like that was the issue all along. If it were diagnosed then, I would’ve avoided these issues.
