My son’s 2019 Ranger XLT got yhe powertrain malfunction error this morning going to school, and he said that it wasn’t shifting well. I need to pick it up to take to the dealer, and was wondering if this is ok to limp 30 miles, or if I needed a tow. Please advise.

Here are pics of my whistle free solution. It’s a PIA that light manufacturers don’t solve the problem. Took me all weekend and several tries to stop this whistle. Be forewarned if you want to install light bars on your trucks.

So, update on the whistle……still whistling. Edge trim didn’t work, and for sh&ts and giggles, we covered the fins completely and still whistling. Any other ideas?? The light looks great, but this whistling has got to go.

My son drove the truck to autozone after the advancetrac message appeared and had them run diagnostics while the truck was running. No error was recovered. Guess it’s back to the dealer.

If I do a scan with the truck running and the error displayed, will it pick up a code? Like I said before, the error disappears when the truck is turned off and restarted.

No check engine code. Just advanced Trac disabled message. Clears each time truck is restarted.

Didn’t charge me, and told me I needed new tires before they could diagnose. Tires were chopped and needed replacement soon.

Just checked my son’s 2019. Luckily, it has the cover. Sounds like Ford made a bad decision trying to save a little money.

Added some Lund Sx textured fender flares today. Turned out pretty good, but had a little trouble with the side lights fitment. The rubber gaskets were a pain as well. I think the will be the perfect size to keep the dirt fling under control.
