Sanity check on wiring diagram

So I actually tested the draw on these lights. What I posted was what the marketing said. However after testing them the reality is they draw about 30 watts each on the 12.2v system. Meaning it's only like 15 amps and 180 watts for the whole system. So if anyone is interested in these lights that's the truth. Making this a much more doable set up.

Wait, this doesn’t add up. If your test resulted in a measured 30watts @ 12.2 = 2.5amps each.
What process did you use to test this?

If you plan to add more accessories, you can keep the switch you purchased and as suggested above - use 1 channel to trigger an additional solenoid or high-current relays.

I didn't think that they were actual 210 watt lights, but 210 watt incandescent equivalent. That is why they draw so little power. LEDs don't need as much wattage as an incandescent version to give the same light output.

Looking up these lights on Amazon it says 51 watts. The 210 is likely equivalent output.

That makes sense! And explains what is likely 16awg wire coming out of them. 4.25amps each. 25.5amps all together.

Tested with a FLUKE triple. You're right my math was bad. I tested 2 lights and extrapolated. Either way, the power is significantly lower than what it's marketed as.

They always are, but that doesn't mean they are worthless as many people assume. I learned a long time ago never ever trust marketed numbers, your only end goal should be, "Do these produce enough light, focus, pattern, etc etc etc to meet my personal requirements".

I run a 6 light roof setup that are on par with KC Gravity Pros but cost about 1/4th the price tag.

My connection setup for them is a bit more than the normal guy would run (one giant pigtail line). I utilize a lot of junction boxes so I don't have all the power running through a single line the entire channel and try to minimize single line / multi-device length where I can. Junction boxes are also MUCH more friendly for maintenance, replacement, swap outs, testing.
