sold the truck but didn't sell the shaft with it?

There must be more to that story but alas, we'll never know.

I'm actually revisiting getting the Tom Woods driveshaft as my truck is banging around quite a bit. I already replaced the shaft support under warranty once and don't feel like doing so again. It's always one more thing with this PITA truck.

That being said it states you are supposed to measure your stock shaft before ordering so I'd be cautious about ordering any old used shaft.

This is how I picture a driveshaft shops inventory.
Hence the reason why you need to measure, they just find one in the pile, throw on some new paint and ship it off to you.

I joke, I don't need Tom Woods googling my address and stopping by for a "talk"

But how critical is that? All US Rangers have the same wheelbase, so same length, unless there is difference from 2WD to 4x4. Any minor difference should be taken up by the slip yoke.

Pretty sure it's tom woods company covering their butts. If I recall they don't accept returns nor do refunds.

Its sucky but is a reasonable policy. Doesn't take long to measure.

I dunno. I thought it was odd too that he needed a measurement.

FWIW, I took the TW off when I traded in the Ranger and the gentleman from the forum who bought it had a measurement within an 1/8 of an inch of mine with no issue.

Funny! Shawn's not a Jersey Boy, no need to worry about "sleepin' with the fishes".

He's quite a mellow fellow.

Tom Woods makes the driveshafts on demand. They turn them out quite efficiently too. I purchased and installed one over a year ago.

They do accept returns and do refunds. They go way out of their way to make their customers happy.

Oh, guess memory slip there.

I don't have one myself so not familiar with their policies.
