Of course you'll have to stop in Winslow, Az to take a pic of "The Corner" with the flat bed Ford !!!
Unfortunately, aside from the corner, not much else to see, and no real good places to eat.
Visited there while we were at Meteor Crater Park which is worth seeing if your in the area.

You're right about the food. We found a small diner and it was just "ok" but nothing special. While it was a nice drive out there (we were staying in Flagstaff) it's definitely a tourist trap but a good stop if you're in the area and have never been there.

The obligatory picture with Money Pit in it of course. ?

That tain't no flat bed Ford !!!
We actually came in off of I-40 from Meteor Crater where we were camping.
Stopped at the Carl's Jr. off the interstate....only decent place we could find to eat.:crackup::crackup:

Happy Birthday Andy!!! ? I haven't done the whole Rt 66 drive yet but like Brian said the original part through Kingman into Williams is really nice. You'll see some of the original old gas stations and a lot of memorabilia along the way.

Happy Birthday Classic.webp
? I had a 66 Mustang!!! Thanks Dave.

Ok old guy stuff,

I turn 66 on Sunday, my wife asked what specifically do I want for my birthday present.

I told her I wanna do Route 66!!! The next year, any suggestions? All suggestions welcome!!
Three notable spots in Arizona on Route 66.

1. Peach Springs AZ is the town that Radiator Springs in the Pixar Movie "Cars" was based off of.
2. Standin' on a Corner in Winslow Arizona
3. Wigwam Village in Holbrook, AZ. These are the iconic "teepee" shaped motel rooms.

Flagstaff AZ is a pretty neat town too but most of the worth wile exploring is off the beaten path and 66 is kind of just another road in town. Then there is our giant hole in the ground, the Grand Canyon about an hour north of Flagstaff.

The Wigwam Motel on the old Route 66 near San Bernardino is still in business I believe. I did stay there one night in the 1960's.
