Route 66

Ok old guy stuff,

I turn 66 on Sunday, my wife asked what specifically do I want for my birthday present.

I told her I wanna do Route 66!!! The next year, any suggestions? All suggestions welcome!!

The biggest section of original 66 in the west is between Kingman AZ and Seligman. Goes through Peach Springs and gives a real feel of the original route.

Yeah been there a few times, looking at a more eastern area..

I do recall driveing next to it back on 2008 when moving..... I mean being dragged there by my Parents. I dont believe you will find many big patches, but you will find some neat stuff. In NM you will find the 66 Burger Joints on the west side of Albuquerque.

i would suggest the Black hills area, great scenes to look at and very cool driving areas. Also, from there you can go to Devils tower.

Happy Birthday Andy!!! ? I haven't done the whole Rt 66 drive yet but like Brian said the original part through Kingman into Williams is really nice. You'll see some of the original old gas stations and a lot of memorabilia along the way.

I was thinking he was referring to AZ but the Black Hills area is on the south side, while 66 is on the North side

Already have been through the black hills area. I’d live there if it didn’t snow so much. Too cold for me.

one day i hope to see as much of 66 as still possible. ive seen a small chunk of it up in the texas panhandle area is all. saw the caddy ranch of course.

Of course you'll have to stop in Winslow, Az to take a pic of "The Corner" with the flat bed Ford !!!
Unfortunately, aside from the corner, not much else to see, and no real good places to eat.
Visited there while we were at Meteor Crater Park which is worth seeing if your in the area.
