Hello folks

I just got a 2020 Lariat Supercrew FX4, and need to get it rigged up.
I am looking at roof racks. Ideally something that will bolt-mount into the factory holes (not clamp) and something I can order in Canada.
Does anyone have any recommendations (either for a rack or a company that sells roof racks in Canada).

Thank you.

Where in Ontario are you? Rack Attack has several locations in SW Ontario, and one out in Ottawa, although they do strike me as a little more expensive than the average. Riva Truck Accessories has a couple of locations in the GTA, but depending on what you get, you could probably get something delivered if you're not in the area.

I'm near Ottawa.
I'm ok having something shipped, I'd just rather have it shipped from Canada so I don't have to deal with the exchange/duty/import/border /brokerage fees - baloney.

It seems there is a category of vendors who sell wildly overpriced gear. Maybe I've been out of the loop for awhile but I was blown away when I saw a $7500 truck cap. I literally spent that much on my last truck! lol. I digress - back to racks.

Thanks for the links - do you have a roof rack? If so, would you recommend it?

I have and love the Prinsu roof rack. I bought directly from Prinsu USA, shipping and duty was a fkr, and it requires drilling hole in the roof gutters, but if my Ranger was destroyed today I'd do the Prinsu again on the replacement Ranger.

Shipping was $200 USD to Southern Ontario.

Thanks for that perspective. Did you consider any other racks when you were deciding on a roof rack? Did any of those not require drilling?

I also looked at the Rhino, but it also required drilling. The only ones I found without drilling were clamp ons. The Ranger only has 4 hole in the gutter, so anything that is not clamp on will likely need to be drilled, or have very low capacity.

No, I don't have a roof rack. I've been looking into options for over the bed, but most things either clamp into the bed, which wouldn't work with my tonneau cover, or are ridiculously over-priced. I might look into a roof rack down the road, but it's a little lower on my priority list.

Yeah, I can't believe the prices they are charging for this stuff.
I'm seriously considering fabricating something myself. I had another ranger years ago, and I made a cap out of wood. It was supposed to be 'temporary' but it was made exactly for my needs, and it worked so well I never got rid of it and ended up selling it with the truck years later. Lol.
I'm a much better welder now and have some ideas, so we'll see where it goes.

Yeah, I'm trying to find a pair of roof rails from a junkyard SUV that are levelled flat (not curved to fit the roof), which I could mount to the bed rails and put on removable cross-bars for when I need to haul stuff on a rack. I'm not a welder, though, so my options are a lot more limited than yours.

I often check out the Kenny uPull website. You can set it up with alerts to notify you when a particular year/model comes in. I've scavenged lots of good OEM parts off of accidented cars for very low cost.

Good to know. I've heard the commercials, but keep forgetting about them when I'm actually in front of the computer.

If you want to do an overland rack for the bed, there's also Overland Racks Ontario. They seem nice, but they're a little more "permanent" than what suits my needs.

That I am aware of you will have to either clamp bars onto the roof or you will have to drill into the roof. There are no factory holes for a roof rack to attach to on the Ranger

I think for the NA Ranger, everything requires drilling. And from what I've managed to price out, the Prinsu is probably the least expensive platform. Just about everything else is going to cost you north of $1k (and sometimes WELL north) USD before you even get into the install.

If you just want crossbars, a yakima custom install will get you bars with a pretty clean look.

And that should be much less expensive than a platform depending on which crossbars you get.

Sherpa Equipment can be less that $1,000 depending on configuration as well. That said most individuals don't want the rack to be shiny either

I just spent too much time on the Yakima site searching for something they offer that was bolted to my roof. I couldn't find anything at all for a 2020 Ranger SuperCrew. I don't actually need a platform as you mentioned (I really just need crossbars) but I do not want a clamp on system. If you know of something that is not a clamp system from Yakima that I missed, please let me know.
