I was surprised as well. Although when I talked to my muffler shop he told me it likely wouldn’t change it much or at all. And he was right.
Ditto, that is what my Fruitland Idaho shop told me, and He advised to remove the 21/2 and 21/4 exhaust pipes that reduced the 3 " pipe from the motor and replace them with 3" so the exhaust pipe was 3 " front to back and to add a resonator so, I did that and the sound is throaty almost like my 5.7 hemi ; anymore power; maybe , all I know it sounds more like a truck than a car now. The muffler was 3" in and out to begin with and Ford reduced that 3" down to the figures above , at least that is what Barry at Speed O motive told me or that is what I understood.

U just can't get an 8 cyl w/headers sound out of a 4 banger especially running a turbo. Yea doc, I'm 1 of those (67 yr) old guys. Hahaha!
