I have a Blue 2020 XLT -Got it in January of 2020. My question concerns the FX decals on the sides of the bed. If I remove them now, will the spot where they are show less fading that the rest of the bed?

honest answer I don't know.

longer answer after a year I removed my 4X4 stickers without an issue.

3 years, and in Florida? that's a lot of UV to bake the paint in. I will guess you might not notice it after a couple of car washes if there is anything. better chance if you wash and apply protective coatings.

TT

I would guess it would have something to do with how much UV exposure it has gotten. I removed mine from my 2020 last year and did a wash and wax (Gray paint color) and you can't tell it was ever there. I'm not a fan of stickers on my vehicles so that usually the first thing I remove.

Try a hair dryer and heat the corner you want to lift. Take a peek under the decal and see if it looks different. If it does slap it back down while adhesive is still warm. If not a little more heat and peel it off. Good-off works wonders for getting adhesive residue off clear coat.

I used to remove decals from all of the vehicles going up for sale when they got replaced with new ones. Usually 40-50 per year. A hair dryer should work followed with a minor polish after removal.

My STX decals were both crooked so I peeled them off when the truck was new. Get your fingernail under one of the sharp corners and peel the decal back against itself (not up at a 90 degree angle). If the truck has been garaged instead of left to bake in the sun you should be safe.
