I’ve taken switches like this apart before. It probably has 2 rocker contacts, it disconnects as you start to push or pull. This disables the driver door and when you push or pull completely then it connects for up or down.
This is why you can’t just disconnect it. There needs to be an electrical path completed so the driver door switch will work like no one is trying to operate it. Meaning you would need add 2 jumpers to the disconnected wire harness connector on each switch.
I hope this makes sense.
