Anyone have any experience with adding a rear view camera that is displayed in the rear view mirror? Kinda like this.

I'm thinking something like this would be good for "overlanding" where all the gear in the bed (racks and tents and stuff) blocks the view out the back when traveling. I believe the new 2025 Toyota 4Runner will have this on some models standard. I'm not concerned with the recording ability, but if it was to come with it, that would be handy. I tried searching but this place is like google, key words brings up everything except the specifics I'm looking for lol.

It caught my attention due to it being one that clips on to the OEM mirror, and not really hard wired in.

I have an ARE topper and routinely have bikes or a trailer on the hitch and am also interested in the Wolfbox, but have not yet sorted how to route a wire to the top of the topper for rear camera placement... Do folks route through the cab's rear light? Grommet under the driver's seat?

I have a version of that installed for almost a year (see my build)...love it...wish it could zoom/pan...it can only tilt up/down...works great at night as well...I'd forgotten that it's a monitor it performs so well...

I recently installed the Wolfbox as well. With the topper on my truck the view in the stock mirror was all ready limited, and many times the bed was full and the mirror was totally useless.

I also pull an off-road camper frequently and have no rear view then.

So…I mounted an additional camera on the bumper of the camper. Switch out the plugs when I hook-up and then full rear view while driving, plus it acts just like a backup camera while positioning into the perfect spot.

Taking all the factors into consideration, it is well worth it for me and happy with the results.

Just wondering, have y'all found a camera with forward facing but then have the rear camera mount to my role cage? Something that would be a little higher up, different perspective view.
