Rear defrost

So, on the way home from work Wednesday, and as I looked over my shoulder, I noticed some kind of flapping. It was my rear defrost strips...WTF?! Of course, I go to the dealership, just waiting to find out what the deal is. It's not just one side either, the strips are coming off all the way across the glass. Of course, I got the question of aftermarket tint, but it's the factor glass, tint, everything. The only thing that I've tinted is the driver/passenger windows, and the sun strip.

Has anyone else experienced this issue?!

Still waiting to hear back from the dealership. They had to take pics, send them to Ford, and get the new glass scheduled. Whatever they do, it'll definitely be warranty.

Yeah, that's the up side, that's for sure. I'm not real impressed with the dealership. It's not the same one that I bought the truck from, just the one closest to me. I doubt that I'll go back to them after they get this handled. I've called for the past 3 days to talk with the service advisor that started this process, and I've yet to get a return call. When I called today, the operator said the service advisor was right there with her, gave her my information. I even heard the advisor tell the operator that she'd call me "right now"...still haven't heard anything. Lol. Not a good way to keep a new customer.

I'd contact a different dealership about it. The rear windows are on back order and it will be at least a month to get one in.

Still on backorder for me since Jan 2022 and my window has been replaced once already. Carmax us willing to give me $36,600 for it wonder if I sell it to them and buy a 2022 for $40,000 if it worth it.

I ended up having to have the rear window replaced a second time because the window tint guy at the dealership broke the defroster tab off. It took Ford almost 8 months and multiple calls to Ford Customer Care to finally get the second window in...

Dealers all over the country are having a very hard time getting parts in because Ford is putting everything towards production. The result is very little makes it to the dealerships and customers are having to wait for months to get even simple things fixed.

Rear glass delivery - 8 months
Parking brake boot - 2.5 months
Window weather stripping on all 4 doors - 11 months and counting.

Take a look at the deleted items list first to be sure that you're okay with any of the items the penny pinchers have removed.

Also may want to make sure the 2022 is ready and available as Ford is/has halted customer orders on the Ranger to try to catch up since they are so far behind.

Had the same thing happen to my '19 last year, Dealer replaced back window under warranty. Haven't had any issues with it since. To be honest, i hardly ever use it, I am so used to driving trucks that have no back window that i wouldn't even notice if they replaced it with a solid panel. Really wish i would have got the heated mirrors and seats though, I really miss having those. Funny thing is I've found that the ranger mirrors don't seem to frost up as bad as all the other trucks I've owned.

If can swing it, I'd just wait for a 2023....
