No, I ran it up the pillar too. I think some pulled power from overhead but that's above my pay grade.
Yeah I know what you mean. I may take it to my guy who does Headliners and Trim electrics, stereos and all kinds of crap maybe he can find a nice tap for me in the overhead console.

Received the side moldings today Perfect match. I don't care to park on the outside empty spaces. It becomes a target, I saw a Hellcat owner take up- two spaces in a full parking lot..........Boy I wanted to key it but I will let the universe decide. I park next to vehicles to blend in. I bought these for extra protection.... I checked it against my wifes CRV she opened the door and she would just hit my door even though the floorboards stopped her it still was able to catch my door so I bought this molding and I think I'm going to leave it so I got two ugly things on my truck to keep it from getting ugly a bug deflector and side moldings. Install wasn't bad at all. It's 7 in from the door bottom in front and 8in in the back so it has a slight rise to the rear following the trucks natural Body Folds.

Bet you can't tell that my truck is filthy. I didn't realize how bad it was until I start to install the moldings. Rained all day yesterday and I was out in it. I should have given it a rain wash my neighbors would think I'm really crazy washing a truck in the rain. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07NS9CFWP/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I do rain washes anytime I can because we have hard water. Wash and let nature rinse. Neighbors think I’m nuts but they don’t have a black truck that gets water spots. ;)

I have extremely hard water here too, anything you wash gets spots. If you have a good coat of wax on it, wash it in the shade and rinse each area after washing it you'll be fine. I do have a whole house water softener but stupid me forgot to have them hook up a spigot to it while they were doing the install.:headbang: I'll eventually get around to it but I never have any water spot doing the above.

Received Tailgate Damper, installed in 30 minutes. I painted the parts black and used some of my MT Bike Fox Racing Shox decals to coverup the DeeZee logos. Works GREAT!!

Not all of this arrived today, but this afternoon was "truck day," washed & waxed, then installed Bed and Tailgate Mats. Put on the Sill Protectors last night, and the phone mount and steering wheel cover last week. Still got that new truck grin. :)

Exactly how I do it except for one prob. No shade. As for your filter? Don’t waste your time. Tried filters, no good. I tried this : Camco 40043 TastePURE RV/Marine Water Filter with Flexible Hose Protector | Protects Against Bacteria | Reduces Bad Taste, Odors, Chlorine and Sediment in Drinking Water https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0006IX87S/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_uCy9DbFNWNEWG
I looked further and unless you want to spend big bux on a deionizer, forget it. Just do like you been doing.
I also use McGuires Gold and a foam blaster. But other than my truck having a Ceramic Pro coat, I use this and it’s fantastic. Mix it in with your rinse pail and mit after you blast it with soap.
Wet or Waterless Car Wash Wax Kit 144 Ounces. Aircraft Quality for Your Car, RV, Boat, Motorcycle. The Best Wash Wax. Anywhere, Anytime, Home, Office, School, Garage, Parking Lots. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00X04JRMU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_wHy9Db0SWPWJR
Excellent stuff.Use it to dry with a micro towel. Fights spots pretty well.

I have the same problem with shade as my driveway faces south. So unless I do it early morning I have to wait until late day until the sun goes over the roofline. This time of year isn't so bad as I can get out there around 3:15pm but in the summer I just wait until the sun is totally down as it's so hot here it can still be over 100* at 10:00pm in July& August.

I only put in a water softener and not a water filtration system. The softener is a must here unless you have skin like an alligator it'll get super dry after a couple days taking a shower. It also helps prolong the life of your faucets and appliances as the hard water just destroys the seals on them

Try the aircraft stuff. They have it in spray bottles so you don’t have to buy the big kit. I tried it first. I think you’ll like it.

Love this detail! Definitely looks better this way.

I've been curious about these lately and have wondered if anyone has figured out a way to get the top mounting plate to sit vertical on the truck bed. It looks like most of these installs have that top plate slightly angled outward due to the single bolt mounting design.

Hi Erik,

I was thinking about this during the install, but decided to get it vertical and really reef on the T50 torx shoulder bolt. The shoulder bolt has a very large bearing area with the keps washer attached and I think it will keep things aligned due to a very large clamp load on the joint. Will monitor. One thing you can do is to apply a piece of 80 grit sandpaper that has adhesive backing, eg a 5" psa sanding disk. This will increase the bite the metal plate has on the pickup box side post...
