Yeah, but their LED's and will go for hours on AAA.
Bedside's, changing them out once every year is no big deal...stuff like this, I trust new batteries more than whatever unknown brand or rechargeable batteries they use.
IDK I have a few flashlights with rechargeable batteries in them and they've been great. I have one I keep in my truck and it'll go 4-5 months and still have a good charge left. I just set a recurring reminder on my phone to recharge them every month now especially all the ones I have inside the house.

I'd keep them in a pouch/case with a set of fresh batteries on the side (in the pouch with them, but not in them), that way I'll have batteries for them when I need them, but they won't leak into the device.

I bought 12 pack of these...6 for wifes car and 6 for the ranger.
LED's and uses AAA batteries. Has a bunch of different flash modes, and are VERY bright.
Place them out in road and they can't help but be noticed...tried them at nioght in front of our home and you can see them flash from a block away. They will get attention in daylight also.

I have these as well. They were a gift, but are pretty awesome. They're magnetic as well.

@Grumpaw got the 12-pack, which requires regular AAA batteries, but there's also a 6-pack version with rechargeable battery, for those who aren't getting kit for two cars and don't want to keep buying batteries. The 6-pack appears to come with two 3-in-1 USB charging cables, so in theory you could recharge all 6 at once using two of the USB ports in the truck.

I am very happy how cheap flares are when I bought new ones for my new Ranger last year. As I see it, the trucks flashers work for a long time, and flares are mostly for a blind corner. I know professionals like flares because they can be over lapped and that way last hours.
I acquired my first flares left over from a wreck when I was 17 and road my bicycle to school. Burned them twenty years later when a friend was run off the road on the way back from skiing, and they were flawless.
