With the plethora of accessories that includes, software hacks (including tunes and FORScan),
various bolt ons, exhaust systems, running boards, nerf bars. wheels, tires,
LED light replacements, fluid options (oil, tranny fluids), body mods,
filters, spray and drop in liners, struts, shocks, and all the others
that I have been reading about and lusting after on this forum
...I was wondering about warranty voiding implications.
Does Ford have any official guidance?

From what I’ve read, warranty would only be void on a specific part if the issue was directly caused by a certain modification. Just modding a vehicle in general won’t void the whole warranty.

It would be a smart and safe to stick with anything, fluid and filter wise, that conforms to the Ford specs stated in your manual. I'll buy ATF and coolant directly from the dealer, because I know they will be selling me the proper fluids. From what I here about wheels, tires, and bolt on upgrades... they are pretty decent as long you're not doing anything too radical and being realistic. Programming is a very big no no when is comes to altering the PCM's parameters, unless its a Ford approved tune and installed by the dealer (aka Mountune and so on). I've heard they get very funny about aftermarket BOV's too.

But all in all, they can't void your warranty unless they can prove an aftermarket part/modification and/or lack of upkeep caused it. As far as official guidance, I think its all up to the unique situation of that claim.

The mountune stuff still voids the factory powertrain warranty, and "adds" a Ford Performance powertrain warranty. Good luck with getting them to pay for an engine after that as they are very sneaky and precise with the new warranty wording.

Never knew that..... thanks for sharing! I thought if you bought into their extortion, you could keep your bumper to bumper warranty. Thanks for the info.

You keep your bumper to bumper, they just exclude most of the mechanical parts in between them. Read their fine print, it's all in the writing.

They would still fix a broken door handle as long as it wasn't melted by super speed.
