Question on exhaust install

I got it all together, clamp everything tight with the clamp about on 1/8 inch from the edge of each pipe. However, pieces still rotate if I lightly touch them. Like if I went over train tracks they would probably move. Making the tips move so they no longer are equal on each side.

How can I fix it? Some clamps I can’t get to much force on because of the angles. And I made sure the notches in the exhaust aren’t inside the tightening bolt/parts.

I used my cordless impact driver to snug mine and they haven't moved. Mine a contractor type not a mechanics type impact.

These are u-bolt style clamps? I put those on with a 3/8" impact gun. If you can move the pipe, they're either not tight enough or you aren't over the pipe underneath the the other pipe.

It is that style.
I took my cheap cordless impact to it and it still spins. Won’t hope up exhaust at all, pipe is resting on the spare tire. Trying putting my weight on a wrench and could not move it.

That's not a u-bolt style, that's a mini band clamp. You're not supposed to reuse those because they stretch and that one does not look new.

Would a 2nd clamp maybe help or take some stuff back off and switch it to a U bolt?

It is the same style of the new ones that came with the new MBRP exhaust. Hard to get a picture from under the truck.

I would just replace that clamp with a new one. As far as sealing, they do a better job than the u-bolt style. The dealer or Napa will have them.

You need a long handle ratchet. Impacts tend to bounce the clamp rather than tighten. I use grease under the nut and a long handle ratchet, pulling pretty hard. MBRP seems to make their connections too loose and it’s a pain sometimes. Another easy solution is a Torca (or similar) strap/band clamp. They actually form around the connection and seal/hold tightly.

Replaced clamp with new one, only one in a hundred miles and got it to tight and snapped the bolt with my new long handle wrench.
Going to put on stock exhaust again for the 2nd time till new part gets here.

I found a clamp the goes from 2.5 inside to 2.5 outside so it fits over the piping at the muffler to flex pipe. So I move the band clamp that came with the exhaust that is supposed to go there and moved it to the back. But the pipe off the Y is still loose. FML

Bringing to exhaust shop, going to have to live with the leaks for a little bit
