After a tumultuous year with my 2019 Ranger Lariat, and a multitude of unresolved electrical glitches, months in the shop, I worked out a great trade-in deal with the original dealer and ordered a new build. I will miss my Sabre 19 Ranger Lariat. I would have driven it into the dirt.

Congrats! Did you have any hesitation at all getting into the ‘24 after all the issues you had with the previous truck?

Absolutely (and my wife!), but have read good things, watched the reviews, and pray that a four year difference from my ‘19 they have worked out the issues. This would be my 4th Ranger with my ‘19 being the only one that I have ever had any issues with. I had a 2000 Explorer for 11 years and never had issues with it either. Given the dealer I purchased my ‘19 from is doing me a solid by getting me out of it and being able to use that value and some msrp tweaks applied towards the ‘24 I had to do it, hopefully no regrets. I wanted to love that ‘19 especially in Sabre, but I was done. ? I can’t afford to have the issues I’ve had without a warranty.

I don't know all the electrical glitches you had with the Lariat, but I would have gotten an XL with a rear locker. Probably 50% (+/-) less electrical things to worry about.
Especially after seeing that guy on Youtube who paid about $7000 for new tall lights and wiring when water ruined his blind spot monitors in his f150. My next Ranger I'll be looking for a 4G lol.

That’s just set of expensive wheels. Lariat’s are the ones to get. My ‘19 Lariat has Been awesome since day one.

The problem is after 12 months they still don’t know what the electrical issues are either; replaced battery sensor, accelerator pedal sensor, 4x4 control module, MAP sensor, fuse box, and still was never resolved. Has been a very frustrating ordeal unresolved, and ultimately resulted in a pretty cool vehicle that drove well 90% of the time, but it was the unreliable 10% as the deciding factor.

Kristina sure loves her 2024 Ranger Raptor. I have not had a problem with my 2020 Ranger Lariat and really love it. Good luck and we will need pictures once it rolls in.

@Tony Robyn,
Did you have any issues with a mushy brake pedal? A complaint of many on the 5th Gen.
How's the '24 brake pedal travel feel compared to the '19?

I don’t have that problem on my ‘19, only the powertrain fail wrenches. I don’t have my ‘24 yet but haven’t heard that.

The brake pedal on my ‘24 feels better than the on on my ‘21 did. I don’t feel like anything needs fixed at all. My ‘21 was bad until I did the Forscan procedure.
That's good news that they made a fix or adjustment to that.

Mine is hot pepper red, black trim, not chrome. Hope its more deep orange than red.
Nice! Have an STX and I prefer black trim too. Orange is one of my favorite colors...I love the Saber and can imagine how much you will miss it! Hope the Red works out to be the right shade for you.
