Pretty ballsy to have had the cruise set at 71 and then lock out all the gears. How fast you going on 1st gear?
Crossing the mountain range...not sure exactly but somewhere around 2400ft elevation...Where are you in VA?
I grew up there. ?
Really fast so I had to be quick while I stuffed my face up close to the gauge to take this pic lol...actually, I was at a stop light...How fast you going on 1st gear?
Thanks for your compliment! I chose the body down to put the shaft up high to prevent damage...that's all =)@Mifitoy - I've only been a forum participant for 5mos, but I've been transfixed by the builds here. Yours has been great to follow. With my recent upgrade to the eibach 2.0s, I noticed you installed your rears with the shock body down and I was wondering why?
Very cool design and model!I'm thinking 1/2" finished Birch or Poplar plywood wrapped with Magnetic vinyl?
I'm considering marine ply as one of the materials for final build...probably after the first prototype to sort out the build...the first one will probably be elcheepo plywood with poor man fiber glass...Very cool design and model!
Have you considered using ⅜" marine grade plywood? 6 sheets of ½" Regular (softwood) ply is about 240#, ½" hardwood ply is about 270#, while 6 sheets of ⅜" marine grade ply is about 210#. It's stronger and basically waterproof. It's composition makes it more structurally sound, it's very impact resistant and smaller fasteners can be used for assembly. Ultimately you'd save up to ½#/sqft, which doesn't sound like much but that's about 7¼ gals of water or 9½ gals of gas for those remote camp-outs.
Looks good Sid !Cruising through Blowing Rock, NC...
