I need a rack for a canoe and want something with a little more utility than the Thule clamp-on system with the couple cross bars. This looks like it offers way more flexibility. I get it is more complex to install. I’m fairly handy and comfortable working on vehicles.
I had the Rhino Rack system in a shopping cart when I stumbled on some less than favourable reviews. The simplicity of the install is also the shortcoming - pop-rivets.

It appears as though this rack uses nut-serts. So, a larger version of the pop-rivet…. How are you finding it is holding up? What are your pros and cons?

Thanks for your input!

it's holding up well. Some wind noise, but any roof rack will generate noise (bought rubber strip but not installed yet)

Only minor gripe is the need for carriage bolts to attach stuff, unless you use u-bolts or drill holes (I have a rifle case and max trax permanently mounted), Cutting the strips that go in the gutter is painful ($$$ to replace) and still haven't found the right thickness 3M tape to attach the center portions

All in all very happy and it looks great.

I also looked at rhino rack and found the video from the aussie who had one come off:

Thanks for the input.

I ordered the Prinsu rack this afternoon. Should be here in a few days.

I’m off Monday/Tuesday. Hope to be able to install it then.

Got the rack installed. Drilled the gutter trim so it could be reinstalled. Really happy with how that turned out. Have only driven it two blocks since the install. Will see if I need to address wind noise.
Thanks again for the input.
