Received email today and looks like they canceled my order. Part now shows “backlog” note. Not for sale.
Now I must call and ask. Never get what one wants.

I reviewed the directions and when I saw the requirement to drill through the floor, it shut me down. I have used AMP research power steps on my past trucks, so this is a disappointment.
There are many holes in the cab. Just wish they would show better details on drilling and depth.
Drill baby drill!

The instructions are unclear to me about what this drilling is for. I can't tell if it's for the boards, wiring, or lights?

Has to be cable from OB2.

After reviewing the instructions, that appears to be correct.

Coming into the cab is required to reach the OBD II then why did Amp Research decide to save a dollar and not give enough wire to com in through an existing grommet on the firewall?

On my Ram this tap to the wires for the door sensors was achieved exterior to the cab.

Before a response is posted about the fact that I could extend the wires, that is correct, I could. That begs the question: "Why should the end user be required to modify wiring for a new product that is specific to our vehicles?"

My other installations did not involve drilling anything. :-(

Talked to a sales person and the original opening for purchase was an error. They are not ready to take orders yet. In about two weeks they plan to be ready. I also requested with this extra time could they update the installation info to cover more details on wiring and drilling.
Said he would pass on the request. Did mention if we do need help they have techs to help. But if they do better instructions then each of us does not have to call. Save everyone time. So we can hope they will work on it.

Does anyone know why AMP Research decide to make their electric running boards only 72" long when the rest of the industry options for this truck are in the range of 79" ?

There are other power step options?

Sorry for the confusion, I meant to say that all other running boards (non-electric) for this Ranger are 79", so why did AMP design their E-Boards at 72", they don't look right.

Do not have mine yet but I will speculate.
Being a powered step, more weight might affect operation over time.
Selling one step length can be used on both 4 door and 2 door.
A long step if loaded on one end might cause issue with articulating supports.

How long do you want this? Looks like it fully covers doors.
Not intended as a bed step. Other options for this.

Not much difference that the amp boards from the factory that were on my 2015 F150 just covers the door area

I think that the running boards at full length 79” gives the truck a better line/look and its more ascetically pleasing. See attached pictures for the difference.

BTW i already removed my stock running boards and sold them (not yet shipped) and was waiting to purchase the E-boards from AMP and now I’m rethinking thIs.

Just watched this installation video by @Josh Mills and I am finally sold on these E-Boards by AMP Research.

Do we still have a discount code at Stage3Motor Sports?

I mounted my lights to the frame instead of the rocker panel like AMP illustrated. I think they’ll last longer there and no drilling. Shine on boards just fine.
