One of the disappointments on my 2019 XLT was that it didn't have Homelink.
If you have an auto-dimming mirror and want to add Homelink without having to run any wires, someone has made a solution.

Gentex sells mirrors with Homelink but there aren't any that are compatible with Ford's mirror mount and wiring connector. However, a vendor in Indiana is filling this niche by modifying Gentex mirrors with the Ranger mirror mount and connector to allow plug and play. As long as you have an auto-dimming mirror, it has 3 wires (power, ground and reverse) and can be swapped in about 15 minutes.

The company is Bob's Automotive Mirrors and the link to the Ranger model is Gentex Frameless Auto Dim Rear View Mirror w/Homelink® V5 Pl . The price is reasonable (I paid ~$250). Bob answered all of my questions, includes installation instructions and provides a 1 year warranty.

I wish this would have been available 4 years ago, but its installed now and works great!

Thanks for this!

Reading through the information and looking at the pics, what is this button (circled) looks like a power button?

This button disables the autodimming feature of the mirror.

Another comment on these types of mirrors. They have Power, Ground and Reverse Signal. The reason for the Reverse is so it disables autodimming while backing out of your garage. The dimming feature works by monitoring the light intensity at both the front and back of the mirror. If the light shining on the glass is much higher than the front (like when someone's high beams are shining on you in the dark), the mirror will dim to reduce glare. This is disabled when pulling out of your garage when sunlight may 'trick' the mirror, so while in reverse, it will not dim.

if you ever want to disable the dimming feature, you can just press the center button

It should be noted that the power coming to the mirror on the Ranger is Accessory power, so it's not always on and only works when the Accessory power is keyed ON. I have other vehicles where the mirror is Always ON, so you can use the Homelink buttons with no key.

This is a option vs adding the visor (Homelink) and the needed wiring harness for the OE Version.
Plus even if you do not have (Auto-Dim) mirror, keep in mind all you need to get the power feed for it, is a short harness adapter to pick up power same as the Dash Cam (install).
I think that since the 5G has been discontinued and more OE parts are also being placed on the discontinued list - we will see more aftermarket options become available such as this.
Cool Find for those without the Homelink Transmitter, much simpler and possibly actually cheaper than upgrading the visors and adding the needed wiring harness above the headliner when you factor in all required parts and harness unless you can find one from a -Pick N Pull yard for far less money.
